Welcome!

So this would be the first post on my new blog. I’ve appropriately named it Blue Side Up in accordance with one of the first rules I ever learned in my flight training. I have no idea how this site will develop, but my plan is to write about my flight training and experiences, from private pilot to commercial pilot, and hopefully beyond.

So, let’s get you caught up. It would probably have been a good idea to start this blog before I took my first flight lesson, but that’s not the case. I’ve been flying for over a year and am currently finishing my private license. Such is life in the aviation industry – nothing in the past few months have gone as planned. Just before my private flight test, my flight school made some operating changes that prohibited me to fly with them anymore, and so I had to switch schools (and airplanes). I now fly C172’s instead of the Diamond DA20, which I was getting very comfortable with.

I’m comfortable in the 172 now, but this Canadian winter is still delaying my chance to take the flight test. Hurry up and wait.

So now you know a little bit about me and my flight experience. I plan to keep writing new posts with updates on my training and my flying experiences. Stay tuned!
